• Card content — the personalised text, message, and signature you add to a card you create.
• Recipient information — the name and contact details (email address, WhatsApp number, or mobile number) of the person you choose to send a card to.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Delivery and engagement data — whether a card was successfully delivered, and whether and when it was opened.
• Technical data — cookies used to keep you signed in, and standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) collected automatically for security and to keep the Site working properly.

A note if you're sending a card to someone else

When you send a card, you give us the recipient's contact details so we can deliver it on your behalf. By doing so, you confirm that you have a lawful basis to share that person's information with us for this purpose — for example, because they're a friend or family member you have permission to contact this way. We only ever use recipient information to deliver the specific card you sent.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Process your payments and manage credit and membership balances.
• Personalise, send, and deliver textcards on your behalf.
• Let you see whether a card you sent has been opened.
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the Site.
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account or orders.

Who we share information with

We share information with trusted third parties who help us provide the Site and deliver textcards. This includes:

• Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Resend, to deliver textcards sent by email.
• Twilio, to deliver textcards sent by WhatsApp or text message.
• Supabase, our database and account-hosting provider.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to comply with a legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Textcards Ltd, our users, or others.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Our legal basis for processing

We process most personal information because it's necessary to provide the service you've asked for (performance of a contract) — for example, sending a card you've paid to send. We process some information, such as fraud prevention and Site security, on the basis of our legitimate interests.

International transfers

Some of the providers listed above may process information outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the providers' own standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

How long we keep information

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time using the contact details below.
